February 4, 2008. Poster on DMA-based I/O on Cell accepted at USENIX FAST'08 conference.
February 1, 2008. Two papers accepted at the 2008 ACM Computing Frontiers Conference, on DMA-based prefetching for I/O on Cell and on modeling and scheduling tiled wave-front algorithms on asymmetric multi-cores.
January 14, 2008. CCGRID'08 paper on scheduling on the PS3 cluster accepted.
November 2, 2007. TPDS paper on concurrency throttling accepted.

July 28, 2007. Cameron and Nikolopoulos receive NSF CSR grant for research on thermal optimization of advanced execution systems.
July 28, 2007. Nikolopoulos and Back receive NSF CSR grant for research on virtualization technologies and application-specific operating system customization on many-core platforms.

June 26, 2007. Dimitris Nikolopoulos wins IBM Faculty Award.
May 25, 2007. Dimitris Nikolopoulos completes invited Ph.D. course on "Multi-core Systems Programming and Software Optimization", at the Department of Computer Architecture (Department d' Arquitectura de Computadors). in the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya in exquisite Barcelona, Spain.
May 25, 2007. Matt Curtis-Maury interns at LLNL.
May 6, 2007. Matt Curtis-Maury passes Ph.D. proposal.
March 16, 2007. PEARL wins best paper award of PPoPP07 for the paper on dynamic multigrain parallelization on the Cell BE.
March 16, 2007. Journal of VLSI Signal Processing paper on algorithms for phylogenetics on the Cell BE accepted.
March 1, 2007. Journal of Grid Computing paper on MMLIB accepted.
February 15, 2007. STMCS workshop position paper on VT-ASOS accepted.
January 24, 2007. Dimitris Nikolopoulos appointed Tutorials and Workshops chair for ICS'07 . Dimitris serves also in the Program Committee on the conference.
December 11, 2006. Filip's paper on optimizing ML-based computational phylogeny algorithms on the Cell accepted at IPDPS'07.
December 7, 2006. PEARL and SCAPE setup a Linux-powered Sony Playstation3 and run computational phylogenetics on it.
November 10, 2006. Matt Curtis-Maury is serving as a student voluteer at SC'06. Filip Blagojevic is serving as a presenter at the VT booth.
November 7, 2006. Matt's position paper on multiple active contexts for hardware event monitors to be discussed in a session at the FHPM'06 workshop.
November 3, 2006. Filip's paper on dynamic multigrain parallelization on the Cell BE accepted at PPOPP'2007.
October 4, 2006. The PEARL lab is now officially part of CHECS, the Center for High-End Computing Systems.
September 4, 2006. Dimitris Nikolopoulos will serve as Program Vice-Chair for the 36th International Conference on Parallel Processing (ICPP-07), in the OS and Resource Management technical track. The conference will be held September 21-24, 2007 in XiAn, China.
August 20, 2006. Dimitris Nikolopoulos will serve as Program Vice-Chair for the 4th International Conference on Autonomic and Trusted Computing (ATC'2007). The conference will be held in September, 2007 in Hong Kong, China.
