Shuttle disintegrates, 7 astronauts dead

A massive recovery effort is underway to sort through debris from the space shuttle Columbia, scattered over hundreds of miles in the Southwest. NASA has vowed to discover what caused Columbia to break apart February 1 during its re-entry into the atmosphere.
