FSU fallout

When Florida State quarterback Adrian McPherson was hit with stolen check charges last fall, the university moved quickly to throw him off the team. But, as SI.com's Mike Fish reports, coach Bobby Bowden and FSU brass allowed McPherson to play most of the '02 season, though they had been told months before that McPherson was allegedly a heavy gambler. In an ongoing criminal investigation, police say they have found gambling among student managers, and at least two accused bookmakers with ties to the university.
