'Rings' star Liv Tyler marriesLOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- "Lord of the Rings" star Liv Tyler has married her longtime musician boyfriend, Royston Langdon, in a private ceremony in the Caribbean, Tyler's publicist said Thursday. Tyler, 25, and Langdon, the former frontman of British band Spacehog, tied the knot on March 25, and will hold a small reception for friends and family in New York next month. Tyler is the daughter of Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler and former Playboy model Bebe Buell. Langdon, who played bass in the rock band Spacehog, recently launched a solo tour in the United States. The couple were engaged in April 2001. O'Donnell demands retractionLOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Comedian Rosie O'Donnell demanded a retraction Thursday from the National Enquirer newspaper, which printed a story that claims she and her live-in partner, Kelli Carpenter were on the verge of splitting up, O'Donnell's attorney said. The story, published in the April 15 edition, detailed a series of bitter fights between the couple and said Carpenter, 35, recently walked out with their 4-month-old daughter, Vivi. "It's all a pack of lies and the National Enquirer was told it was a pack of lies," said Los Angeles attorney Bert Fields, who represents O'Donnell. Even if the tabloid retracts the story, Fields said, O'Donnell may proceed with a lawsuit for defamation and other claims. Officials at the Florida-based National Enquirer could not be immediately reached for comment. John Wayne's son diesBURBANK, California (AP) -- Michael Wayne, the eldest son of late actor John Wayne who helped produce several of his father's films, died. He was 68. Wayne died of heart failure Wednesday at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center following complications from lupus, an immune system disease, publicist Warren Cowan said Thursday. Michael Wayne said in 1991 that there were both advantages and drawbacks of having such a famous father, but "the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages. I produced 'McClintock!' when I was 25 years old. I don't think if I wasn't John Wayne's son, I would have had that opportunity." Among the films Michael Wayne helped produce were "Brannigan" (1975), "The Green Berets" (1968), "Big Jake" (1971) and "The Train Robbers" (1973). He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gretchen; his mother, Josephine Alicia Saenz; two brothers; three sisters; five children; and two grandchildren.
